This uniquely refreshing ale arrives with a brilliant golden hue. The foam is white, creamy and very dense. Aromatics are soft and fresh, with freshly-grated ginger and a hint of lemon drops that becomes more apparent when the beer warms slightly. The body echoes the aromas, with spice and citrus on the forefront and just a wisp of crusty bread. Mouth feel is balanced, with a crisp finish in which in which the citrus and spice characteristics remain.

Pours a very large frothy off white head that gives off good lacing. Has a pale golden appearance, very clear. Aromas of malted barley, ginger, tangy citrus hops, lemon and wheats. Wow, flavours are quite varied with banana breads, citrus hops, malts, ginger coming through as well as a lemony tang aftertaste. Stronger citrus hops in the finish. Slightly wheaty and toasty. Weird combination. Slick and prickly mouthfeel with a strong warming sensation. Quite lively carbonation. Not too bad, but the 750ml is better to be shared. Couldn't drink too much of it as the flavours and finish are slightly overwhelming.

From the LCBO, best before Oct. 10, 2013. Pours a golden colour with a frothy warm cap, good retention and soapy lace. Smells like a Belgian spiced ale, quite nice. Belgian Ale yeast at first pour with hints of maple syrup. The ginger comes out in the taste, mixed with the peppery hops. Kind of minty even, which is pretty different for a beer. I think the wheat gives out these maple syrup notes that balances things. I do not mind this brew (even with the different spiciness, and slight Scope effect), but one is probably enough.

The beer pours a translucent golden colour with a short-lived white head that lingers on as a ring. The aroma is ginger, light fruit, malt, and herbal hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is ginger and citrus up front, with a bitter hoppy finish.
