courtesy pfoxyjohn...pours dark brown, almost black, but not quite. body is medium-full. smaller than some impies i've had but not bad. aroma is a tad on the weak side. chocolate, malts, licorice. no sign of 12% til it's close to room temp. i;d have guessed 8-9. a little more bitter in the finish, with more cocoa in the flavor. nice, but not with the depth of character that the best impy's have.

It's about time! Pours a pitch black colour with a very small brown head. Aroma is nutty, smokey, dark roasted malts and burned toast on the nose. Taste is awesome- once it hits your lips it tastes so good! Down like a piece of chocolate chip ice cream. Creamy, smooth and full of smokey flavors.

Thanks to pfoxyjohn for another tasty Wisconsin brew. Pours a coffee black with a great tan head that is sustained very nicely leaving beautiful classic lacing. Very little carbonation. Aromas of toasted chocolate malts, rich coffee, sweet buttery toffee and caramels with very slight hops. Taste is rich and smooth for a high ABV with a toasted malitness and rich cocoa/coffee flavor and a decent hops finish. Smooth and nice.

Dark chocolate-brown with just a flash of ruby highlights and a thin foamy brown head. A chocolate and licorice nose, and a tangy-come-bitter taste, full-bodied with roasted malt and chocolate flavors. A long finish carries the flavors forward, and keeps the alcohol hidden. I prefer an impy that's a lttle mellower but still full-flavored; this one's a little too bitter and rough for me - although some age would probably help.

Poured a dark brown color with a small, light tan head that leftspotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of nuts, roasted malt, wood, toffee, and a funky hint of chlorine. Taste of light roasted malts, chocolate, caramel malts, anise, and alcohol in the finish.
