Brewed for all the treasure hunters. Herbacious. Botanical. Dank. Resinous. In 1971, the Waldos met one afternoon at 4:20 in the front courtyard of their school near the statue of Louis Pasteur. They set out in a '66 Impala armed with a "treasure map" on a journey to find a secret garden near Point Reyes. They met there at the same time every day and continued their quest. They never found the secret garden....But they keep lookin'. The dankest and hoppiest beer ever brewed at Lagunitas was made with help of the Waldos for all treasure hunters.

Rated in 2015. Poured up on tap at K n B Wine Cellars where it exhibits a clear copper body that supports a tall light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up an inviting blend of dank onion like spicy hop, some mango and then an apple-y sort of cherry fruitiness spicy woodiness. The taste delivers bold yet restrained resiny hop bitterness where there’s ample quantities of pink grapefruit, pine hops and loads of spicy dank onions. Yummy. Terrific iipa where it’s bold and brash and a bit boozy and just slightly restrained. Solid to style offering.

Aroma delivers a strong note of zesty, resiny hops with funky and malty hints. It pours out of the bottle clear topaz with a nice but effervescent eggshell head. Flavor presents resiny hops as the lead note and funky, citrus, fresh malt, and bitter evergreen as backup performers. Mouthfeel features good body, if not a lot of fizz. Get weird, get Waldo, get hunting!

Golden yellow pour with a white head that leaves some spidery lacing on the glass. Can you say hop bomb? The aroma literally screams as I pour it. Resiny hops, grapefruit, mango, cat piss, sweet malt and pine aromas. Dank hops, grapefruit, orange, sweet malt and some bitter pine on finish. Mouthpuckeringly so. Mouthfeel is full and almost coating. I'm usually a big fan of this style of beer, but the over the top hop profile almost seems artificial. At 11.9%, it will get you lit. Certainly worth trying and a bargain for the price.
