On tap at the brewpub pouring mahogany with tan head and dandy lacing. The aroma is roasted malts, sweet crystal like malts, a touch of earthiness and pine hops. The taste has a full up front malt roastiness tempered somewhat by malt sweetness. At the same time a pleasing level of pine hop bitterness grows to midway and then rolls off into the finish. It leaves a modest roasty to piny flavor lingering deep into the after taste.
