Pilsener-style Lager, 5.0% alc./vol. (4.9% ABV for Bleue in Quebec) Labatt Blue is the best-selling Canadian beer in the world. Introduced in 1951 as Labatt Pilsener, it was named for the colour of its label by fans of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers football team. Blue was the first brand in Canada with a twist-off cap and won the silver medal in the International Lager category at the 1998 Brewing Industry International Awards. Labatt Blue, brewed using specially selected aromatic hops, is a well-balanced, fully matured, full-flavoured beer with a fruity character and a slightly sweet aftertaste.

A great beer. Pretty soft but great tasting and it does the job.

Picked up a tallboy at Foodland. Had this beer many times a long time ago and grew up to realise, why was I drinking this in the first place? Didn’t know any better I guess. Pours a huge foamy white head with good retention and has a straw coloured appearance. Some dirty lacing. Aromas of grains and hay. Flavours are bland with grainy malts and grass. Really not much else. Last time I drank this beer, massive headache ensued. Having it one more time just to rate.

Bottle. Colour – pale yellow, small bubbly white head, weak effervescence, weak lacing. Aroma – grainy malt, some corn, some herbal hops, some cardboard notes. Mouthfeel – light to medium bodied, well carbonated. Flavour – wet grass, cardboard, and rubber.

Just your typical lager from Cannuck Land. Slightly malted and slightly sweet. More of less what you expect from the local hockey game to charge you 6 bucks a bottle fore. Ya Hoser.

Just a average run of the mill yellow lager . Nothing to interesting just a cold beer to drink. I would rather drink Moosehead as far as a Canadian beer is concerned.

Pours clear and yellow. Looks like a pilsner but the body tells me this is a lager. Smells a little musty. Taste is all grain. Very filling and the grainy finish hangs around for a long, long time.

Pale golden color with mild carbonation and a decent white head that dissipates quickly. Grassy, grainy with corn in the aroma and flavor with the addition of maltiness to the latter.

Pours a golden color with a white head that goes away rather fast. Carbonation bubbles never stop. Decent amount of lacing left behind. The aroma is corny aroma with a hint of sweetness and a nice beer smell. The taste is ok initially. The mouthfeel has asmooth feel and is watery.

Okay...tried this again for the 'first' time yesterday. Was my standard beer in the mid-eighties, so was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't too bad. Nothing exceptional, but definitely unoffensive. Just a refreshing, undemanding Canadian session beer perfect for a hot summer day!

The most refreshing Labatt beer on the planet, but that is because it really is nothing more than beer flavoured water. The phenolic properties get stronger each time I revisit this beer.
