Bottle: Poured a deep pitch-black color stout with a small foamy head with minimal retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of light residual sugar with some subtle black chocolate and surprisingly no alcohol. Taste is not as flavorful as expected with some notes black chocolate and some light dry coffee that seems to cover most of the alcohol. Body is fuller then average with an oily texture with average carbonation and surprisingly no alcohol is discernible.

Bottle from Styles, a wonderfully generous trader. Pour was pitch dark black, with a huge-mongo, gi-normous, out-of-control chocolate covered oozing head, pure gusher, thought for a second this was a Captain Lawrence product. After the pours from the bottle, the remaining head in the bottle turn into another inch of beer on the bottom. This was incredible looking. In any event, the aroma was strong CO2 acidity in the eyes and nose, with chocolate and vinous notes. The flavor was strong alcohol, acidic vinous notes, chocolate, hot but not throat burning. All the flavors were a little rough together (and this thing was hot and over carbonated on top), finish included an astringent bitterness. It wasn't a winner when all was said and done, but it was a great experience and enjoyable to anticipate. Thanks again, Chris!

Bottled. Very black colour, small brown head. Aroma is chocolate, some roasted malts, mild notes of sour fruits as well as licorice, alcohol and mild vanillaish notes. Flavour is strong alcohol in mix with licorice, roasted malts, chocolate, dark coffee and some slight fruity notes.
