Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 2 | Overall: 3
The strongest Russian beer exported to the U.S., uh? Anyway, I have been on a kick of strong lagers lately and they are almost always the same and pretty ruff but it is a new review so here it is. Aroma is of grain and cereal with some malt as well and tons of sugar esters and breadiness and is very hot and alcoholic. Appearance is a deep, polished yellow with a fuzzy and medium head on top that is bubbly and disappeared like the Russian Tsar. Mouthfeel is full-bodied and heavy with some hot and malty complexity but otherwise is just yuck. Flavor tastes like a mishmash of bread and corn with tons of sugar and is cloying as hell and the aftertaste is thick, hot and watery and is similar to a malt liquor and has a finish that is full of adjuncts and burns my throat like acid as I swallow it. Overall, not a good beer at all and tastes like a hot canister of jet fuel; I may have to pour this one down the drain...YUCK!!
