More of my "loot" from Birmingham - OK, Pelham. Pours clear topaz with a thick and frothy porcelain head. Aroma delivers dank, piney hops on a bed of raw malt and a pinch of citrus. Flavor yields seriously piney hops, mild hop bitterness, subtle sweet malt, and a tangy citrus undertone. Mouthfeel presents fair, smooth body and good fizz. Get knee deep in Simtra!

A super fresh iipa shipped to me courtesy of slowrunner77. Wow. Evergreen, tropical, and citrus notes abound. I agree with my donor that the flavor reminds me a lot of maharaja, but I truly think this is even better--huge hops flavor, perfect bitterness. Happily skunky. Full bodied, moderate warming. Wish I could drink this all summer.

I had this beer in El Dorado Hills, California. I actually liked the Hoptologist better. I found this beer to be a bit sticky. I also thought the hop profile was nicer in the hoptologist - more citrus. This was more pine. Still a very nice beer.

this one's been winning awards left and right, and i can see why. reminiscent of a Maharaja. aroma of weed, citrus, a touch of pine and a good dose of tropical fruit. flavor the same with an ample dose of bitterness and a nice, fairly clean bittersweet finish. medium bodied and a touch sticky. quite good. i wish i could count on their beer being fresh. This score reflects fresh only. Dated bottles as of 1/13.

Tasted on tap at the 12th Bistro Double IPA Festival on 2/11/2011. This Triple/Double IPA pours a light orange gold color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, herbal, ‘herbal’, citrusy and sweet. A medium bodied 2x/3x IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are citrusy, garlicky, tropical and piney. Decent carbonation. Definitely a big hoppy IPA. This was the last beer I rated that fest, as this beer finished off my palate. Like the combo of Citra and Simcoe hops. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth.
