Cool looking green 50cl bottle pours a nice clear amber with tall semi big bubbled tan head. The aroma comes across pretty metallic and mineral like with bits of caramel, faint roasted malts and a vague faint fruity ester note. The taste has pleasing caramel malts and malt sweetness rolling slowly into thin ribbons of roasted malts, pilsener like malts and then a lagery sort of yeastiness. Tasty brew all things considered.

Clear light brown with fluffy off white foam head, lacing to glass. Aroma is yeast, grain and barley. Taste if caramel with nice bitter aftertaste. Looks a bit watery for a dark beer, but taste is not bad. (Moscow 201209)

Interesting. I never know what to expect with exotic foreign beers. 11.16oz green bottle with lots of funny lettering. Pours a light brown color with a decent head that didn't last long and left no lacing. Smells of caramel malts with a hint of hops. Tastes grainy and almost astringent. Caramel is on the forefront. Hops are present. Not very complex. Mouthfeel is fuller than most Darks and on the creamy side. Drinkability is better than most Darks I've had. Not a bad beer at all, and kinda cool to try one from a country not known for its beers.

My fellow cohorts give me a hard time for going the extra mile, when it comes to picking up obscure beers from far-away lands -- especially obscure stuff from The Former Soviet Union. And yes, I've been burned on multiple occasions with many a'beer. But once and a while, something unique and tasty crosses my path. And this particular beer (from Armenia, of all places) is not bad. No, not bad at all.
Looks a bit tame -- dark reddish/oak-wood in the body, with a steady but inspectacular head of foam. Hints of lacing.
A bit nuetral in the nose, but what few bits I can pick up, they tell me that this isn't skunky or altogether vile in the nose.
Only in the flavor does this start to pan out and pay off. Enough bitter nuances to appreciate, but otherwise this lets the malt take charge. Reminded me of some of the iced coffees you can get for 200-300¥ from Japanese vending machines. Not inherently well made, but with enough character to proide some basic enjoyment in the end.
Pretty nice, as far as drinkability goes. An easy-quaffing beer, with the 4.4%ABV not getting in the way one bit.
Overall, not award winning. But I've had much (much!) worse from ex-Soviet republics. And this killed a thirst. Not a bad deal, overall.
