Our very first batch. Based on our Altbier recipe of German malts this batch was fermented with an American Ale yeast so it has a more neutral aroma than our normal Altbier. It is fairly light bodied with strong malt character upfront with grainy hints from the Pilsner malt. A blend of German hops balances out the beer with a light bitterness. The beer pours a deep amber with great lacing in the glass.

The beer poured a translucent reddish brown with a light tan short lived head. The aroma was caramel malt, grains, and weak yeast. The mouthfeel is medium full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is caramel, yeast, and tart grains.
