I generally steer clear of blonde ales, but this was quite yummy. Not a lot of different things happening, but the malt and hop elements are extremely well-balanced. It is more like a constant tug of war than one giving way to the other. Dark amber color, copious carbonation, frothy white head that lasts and lasts. Thick, smeared lacing along the edges of the glass. Semi-dry finish. A great beer from what may very well qualify as a "local" brewery. Add-in 4-22-09: lots of biscuit/cracker flavors that I don't remember being in here. Very little carbonation, it takes a real rough pour to produce some head. lowered some of the numbers.

Tasted at the February Northern California Beer Tasting. This blonde ale pours a medium yellow gold color from a 22oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is grassy and a touch floral. A light to medium bodied blonde ale. It really is a lawn mover beer, not a lot of flavor and unfortunately not a lot of carbonation. It is your prototypical brewpub blonde, slightly sweet and a touch grassy without a lot of hoppiness. Mouthfeel is a touch thin. Finish is crisp and clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

NorCal Feb '08 - A lawnmower beer if there ever is one. You'll get nothing out of this beer when it's warm that you won't get when it's cold. Very little in terms of flavor or aroma, but what was there was some light malt/grains. Flavor was really bland, with some malty sweetness the only real character I could find. Color is brilliantly clear, standard golden/yellow color with little carbonation, hence..no head or head retention.
