The only beer in the standard Karl Strauss line-up that I find myself enjoying. Respectable balance of hops and malt, with the hops taking charge, of course. This beer is often served too damn cold, and many of it's positive attributes don't come out until it warms up a bit. Have only seen this on-tap at the various Karl Strauss resturants -- and to be honest, I'm not sure that I would buy this out in town even if it were bottled. But for the 1-2 times a year I go to the Downtown Karl Strauss location for a good meal, you can be sure that this would be the beer that I order.

Tasted at the Pizza Port Real Ale Fest 2004. Medium orange gold color. Small head. Aroma is fruity and floral hops. A medium bodied IPA. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are grapefruity. A milder flavor IPA, more in the English style. Nicely balanced. Soft carbonation. Not a bad beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and sweet. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Well, this stuff smelled just like soap, either hand soap or dishwasher soap, but soap none the less. Mild hops show through with a very empty bitterness to them. Not alot going on here, but not alot going wrong.

This brew pours with a golden orange body topped by a thick white head with lots of lacing left on the glass. The aroma is sweet, lemony and hoppy with a slight maltiness and a slight mustiness. The flavor is slightly sweet yet bitter, lemony and hoppy and is well balanced with malt. Light to medium bodied and smooth.
