Rarely have I had an oatmeal stout that was as true to its style as this one. The oatmeal provides an unbelievable smoothness and silkiness to the body. The deep chocolate brown body lies beneath just a hint of a tan head that disappears quickly. Virtually no nose, but the texture on the palate is satiny and the flavors are mild, but rich: roasted malt, chocolate and a little coffee. A touch of hop bitterness rises to the fore, and the finish is semi-sweet chocolate - very tasty!.
