This is one of the several beers I sampled when visiting the J.T. Whitneys in Middleton, WI on my "Boozin Across Wisconsin Tour 2008". It came as part of an 8 piece sampler set that I purchased.

The beer came out and was pitch black in color with a nice dirty tan head on it. It looked very nice and inviting. The aroma was that of finely roasted malts with a light smell of bitterness to it.

This beer is smooth drinking goodness with a good dry back end to it. The taste is that of bitter coffee and heavily roasted malts. It's not too bad, but nothing ground breaking. It's slightly above average for a typical small pub stout....doing a good job of staying true to the style.

Jet-black with a thin, brownish head. The aroma and taste here are mostly of sharp, well-roasted malts. It has a nice full and round mouthfeel and a bold lingering finish.
