Murky brown color with a thin tan head. Nose is not strong and very one dimensional, with banana and clove doing all the work. The flavor is even more so, with overripe (nearly rotten) banana overtaking the cloves and other spices for dominance. A little metallic from this bottle. the mouthfeel is too thin to be good, but it's not bad. A prick of carbonation and alcohol on the finish.

Like most TJ beers, not a bad p/u for a buck, but nothing to get excited about either. just on the tame side of all te attributes you expect from the style. bubble-gummy, a hint of spice and roast, and banana. a little thin.

Aroma is strong and malty with a firm fruity overtone that is mainly apple with a shade or two of banana. It pours a hazy, barely transparent mahogany-gold with a thick, if not too persistent, ivory head. Malty, fruity flavor is quite pleasing and refreshing with a hint of yeast. Smooth, firm-bodied texture has a decent amount of fizz. Overall, a rather nice beer.

Purchased at Trader Joe's in Nashville. First Weizen rating of two (both made for TJ). Pours a cloudy amber colour with a golden hue. Its head is nice and creamy, off-white, with good retention and just lacking some lace. Big banana aroma at first pour, then, the wheat comes out with some rich dark fruits. Flavours of bread, caramel, bananas and light hop. A pretty good brew, well-balanced, for such a cheap price at Trader Joe's.

Sampled on 11/11/08. This dunkelweizen pours a slightly hazy amber brown color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel, bready, cookie and sweet, with a touch of banana and clove. A medium to light bodied dunkel. The malts are bready and sweet. The hops are earthy. Decent carbonation. Nice balance. Touch of banana and clove flavors at the finish. A decent dunkel, definitely drinkable, but deficient in depth and density. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
