Cooter Brown was a family man who lived on the mason-dixon line during the civil war. He decided to stay inebriated for the entire war so that he would not need to pick a side. We salute his peaceful manner by naming our brew in his honor. Jekyll Brewing’s Cooter Brown is an American Brown Ale that is smoother than silk. As you bring our Cooter Brown to your lips, you will smell deep roasty caramel notes as our creamy head embraces your stache. Once you taste Cooter Brown, you will experience a deep chocolate maltiness and an American hop bitterness balanced to perfection.

Pours a dark-chocolate brown with a light buttery tan head. Aroma has firm caramel, woody, horehound and malty notes. Rich flavor floods the palate with notes of caramel, cloves, horehound, chocolate and a hint of molasses. firm texture is quite fizzy and leaves a pleasing finish.
