Brewed with the oyster shells from Sanriku Hirotawan, Iwate Kura Beer has revived the beer style that has been brewed for a long time in UK. Oyster shells is well fermented, which gives depth to black beer. It is thick, with excellent refreshing aftertaste.

Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9
Pours opaque chocolate brown with a thick, though not long-lasting, tan head. Aroma offers chocolate, roast malt, coffee, molasses, and subtle oyster tones. Flavor takes the oyster and chocolate up a notch for a bold and enjoyable stout. Mouthfeel features firm, thick body if not a lot of fizz. Worth 8.00 for 330 ml? Maybe a wee bit overpriced (How do you say that in Japanese? My dad would probably know.) but still enjoyable.
