Variety is the spice of life. Every once-in-a-while, you’ve gotta mix things up. Our catalyst for such an excursion out of the ordinary is, um, actually spice. Spice of Life uses traditional brewing spices in a way few dare to. Forsaking traditional ideas of subtlety and cowardly “Pinch of This, Pinch of That” brewing techniques, we embrace the flavors and launch them into a full frontal assault of delicious bitter orange peel and grains of paradise. Beautifully smooth coriander compliments and orange peel perfectly.

750ml bottle -
Aroma - copious orange peel, caramel malts, and floral
Appearance - hazy amber body, sturdy 3-finger head, average retention/lacing
Mouthfeel - medium/full bodied, medium carbonation
Flavor - starts out fruity, noticeable toasted malts and spice
Overall - 3rd beer from Iron Fist and it's another winner. Perhaps a little pricey and it keeps it from getting another tick higher, but it's a quality beer -

A nice spicy saison style brew...one of their tastier brews, though it still seems to be lacking focus. the kaffir lime leaf version of this brew was pretty nice.

Sampled on 9/24/2011. This spiced beer pours a medium orange gold color from a 750ml bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head, with good lacing and nice retention. Aroma is fruity and sweet, with some orange peel and other spiciness. A medium bodied spiced beer. The malts are fruity and sweet, orange and orange peel. The hops are earthy and spicy. Decent carbonation. Nice spiciness. The orange peel is very evident, there even seems to be a little bit of the orange oiliness going on as well. Hints of coriander and grain of paradise as well. Starts kind of sweet and finishes kind of dry and somewhat spicy. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet and spicy.
