This special beer has been brewed using Munich malt and golden oats to give it a beautiful biscuit backbone and a creamy smooth finish. Fuggles hops add their signature earthy and rich character before maturation in bourbon oak unlocks delicious flavours of vanilla and toffee from deep inside the oak grain. NOTE: This is a different beer from Innis & Gunn’s 2009 and 2010 Canadian Cask editions - it’s brewed with a different recipe, and aged in bourbon barrels rather than Canadian whisky casks.

Lcear amber pour, smallish head of creamy beige. Malty aroma, not getting the biscuit or hops, maybe some oak. Nice mouthfeel, flavour like every other I & G. Finishes way too sweet.

Poured a thick creamy head and has a dark amber colour. Somewhat apparent alcohol scent with a pretty strong aroma of vanilla. Same goes for the flavour, vanilla and milder roasted malts. Aftertaste is a bit bitter, not too offensive though. The box the bottle is housed in has abv of 7.7%, 2012 edition.

Purchased at the LCBO in a single box. Pours an amber colour with little transparent flakies floating around. Off-white head that stays a while and minimal lacing. A nice nose of fruits over caramel and butterscotch. No alcohol felt for a 8.3% ABV brew with no burning. Quite smooth and almost creamy-oily. Again, the caramel is in the taste with fruit, like raisins. I do not sense the bourbon barrels influence. Very easy to drink and nicely blended between the sweet sugars and the tasty fruits.
