Description This beer is a strong, inky dark ale, brewed with 6 malts and blackstrap molasses. It is a thick beer, with an intense roasted barley flavour, with notes of chocolate and licorice. Award 2010 Silver Medal Winner in the North American Beer Awards Food Pairing This beer goes well with strong cheeses and hefty desserts. Many enjoy it with lighter fare such as oysters and steamed clams. Our Bottle This re-closable bottle, known as a “pot-stopper”, was widely used in Europe and North America prior to the 1950s. Our new combination cap is an innovative design that allows closure by both crown and swing caps. It can be re-used and meets our green packaging objectives.

Bottle - 1L crowned with a swing-top. Black pour with a tall, frothy brown head. Roasted malt, molasses, vanilla and chocolate int he aroma. Taste is molasses, roasted malt, vanilla, chocolate notes, light coffee and burnt caramel. Body is medium-full with a moderate, dense, creamy carbonation and a mild stickiness. Ends with more vanilla, molasses, roasted malt, toasted dark bread, burnt caramel and chocolate.

If it's not a black pour ,it's a very very dark brown. Brown head retains well and leaves good lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with dark chocolate and coffee. Flavour is roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, dark fruits and smoke. Smooth full mouthfeel. Just what you would expect from a quality Imperial Stout. Well worth the try. Need bigger bottles to fill the potholes from this winter.

Pours a really dark brown colour with a beautiful creamy light brown head, great retention and full lacing. Rich roasted malt aromas with molasses, coffee and some sharp hops. Smooth, mildly creamy mouthfeel with no burning at all. Same for taste with notes of dark chocolate and nice bitterness, dryness. This Impy Stout goes does down nicely and is well worth having.

Huge 1 litre bottle from LCBO, with a swing top ceramic stopper. Pours a huge frothy cocoa coloured head. Has an extremely dark brown appearance, bordering on black. Head sticks around pretty long. Aromas of chocolate, coffee, nuts, mocha and dark roasted malts. Almost a bit bready and toasty. Flavours are fairly strong, quite similar to aromas with emphasis on chocolates and coffee. Somewhat sweet on the palate. Hints of mocha, nuts and a bit of caramel. Nice creamy mouthfeel. Has a warming sensation. Dark chocolatey aftertaste. Really good stuff. Don't really taste alochol for an extra strong beer. Yummy!

Beer pours a solid black colour with a generous light brown head that laces well. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, and dark chocolate. Mouthfeel is full bodied and mildly carbonated. Flavour is pretty one dimensional with the coffee and dark chocolate dominating. -

Nice big bottle. Thanks to my bro brining this for me. Dark black. Dark tan head. Aroma is prevalent coffee. Some smooth oatmeal like textures show up. Some sweetness in the guise I demura sugar and also something faintly lactic. Really well rounded. Hidden abv. Not much for toasty black beer falvours. Low carbonation encourages fast drinking. Will have again

From Firefly. In the lovely Howe Sound one litre swingtop bottle, it poured a creamy dark brown head above a nearly black body. Aroma was hopped and balanced with malt and hints of dark chocolate. Flavour was supurb, echoing the the aroma. Rich and smooth mouthfeel. Truly a great beer, easily the best stout I've had.
