Description A traditional oatmeal stout with an intense roast barley flavors and mildly hopped using Willamette and Nugget hops. The robust flavour is balanced with a smooth creamy finish. It is named for the razor's edge ridge that comes off the south flank of Mount Garibaldi's Atwell Peak. Awards 2007 Bronze Medal in the North American Beer Awards. 2011 Silver Medal in the Canadian Brewers Awards. Food Pairing The dark roastiness of this ale makes it a great pairing with hearty foods such as barbecued meats, shepherd’s pie and stews. The beer also stands up to the sharpness of stronger cheeses such as blue and aged cheddar. It is also a classic accompaniment to oysters and most chocolate desserts. Our Bottle This re-closable bottle, known as a “pot-stopper”, was widely used in Europe and North America prior to the 1950s. Our new combination cap is an innovative design that allows closure by both crown and swing caps. It can be re-used and meets our green packaging objectives.

Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8
Rich aroma is smoky with tones of quality coffee and molasses and just a hint of burnt caramel, somewhat sweet but not cloying. It pours an oily sable that is nearly opaque but does let a little light get through at the edges. Light tan head is thick, fine-bubbled and frothy, and sticks around for a while. Flavor, unfortunately, does not quite live up to the promise of the aroma. Although it has good tones of roast coffee, unsweet chocolate and molasses, as well as a hint of hops, it is a bit on the thin side. Texture is fairly fizzy and a little watery. Overall, though, this is a decent beer.
