A soulwarmer for the cold season and a true friend for a cold body. Powerfully spiced with fresh sage and ginger. Dark as a cold winter night.

Draught@CPH BF 2011. Very deep amber colour, close to black, small brown head. Aroma is spruce, liquorice and mild fark fruits along with some nutty notes as well. Flavour is quite much the same. Pleasantly balanced. Quite much gingery notes in the finish as well.

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7%. Brewed with fresh sage and ginger. Black colour, dark brown in the highlights. Big tan head. Nice roasty aroma, notes of coffee, hints of dark chocolate and herbs. Good creamy mouthfeel. The flavour is distinctly roasty and spicy, but the ginger is not burning. Notes of coffee and dark chocolate again, good bitterness in the finish. Some ashes and wood in the aftertaste. This must be one of Holbæk Bryg’s better beers.
