"Across the Pond" is a 2016 Ontario Brewing Award winner. It uses a unique blend of hops to deliver a soft aroma with subtle supporting malt accents. The hop bitterness perfectly compliments the specialty malt flavours. "Across the Pond" It is a very drinkable, thirstquenching and enjoyable ale in the tradition of the fine English ales available around Cambridge, England (where Ted grew up!).

The beer pours a translucent dark amber colour with a creamy tan coloured head which leaves a lot of lacing. The aroma is bread, molasses, yeast, and light floral hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is grainy malt and caramel with a bitter finish. An English style done well by an Ontario brewery. -

Pours a hazy amber colour with a beige frothy head, good retention and some foamy lacing. At first, the smell was not quite good with the hops showing metallic and mild chemical notes. At the last pour though, this seems to change to a nicer fruity malt nose. The fruity malts do show in the flavours the whole time, with a nice light dry finish. Caramel undertone with hints of woods. A little too much hops for the style, but as a North American version - this is fine.
