Pours dark brown with a tan ringlet. Malt and caramel in the nose. Very nice round mouth with a sweet finish. Nice beer all around, definitely worth a try.

Nearly black in color. A small light tan foamy head rises briefly above. Settles fairly quickly leaving no lacing. Light malt-dark fruit nose. I get licorce and roastiness in the tasting. Medium bodied, smooth.

Strong aroma is mainly fruity and yeasty. It pours a deep, opaque sable that is just a couple whiskers above black, with a fairly thick, if not too persistent, light tan head. Flavor exceeds the expectations of the aroma: strongly malty with yeasty and caramel notes and a fruity hint. Smooth texture has good body and good fizz. Look forward to more planks in this series!
