For Father's Day, Hardywood presents an Oyster Stout. We brewed this beer using authentic Rappahannock River Oysters brought to us by Rappahannock Oyster Company. That's right, we boiled up a bushel of oysters in our kettle to create a slight meaty and briny aroma that is followed by the tasty chocolate and roasted malts. This beer has an incredibly silky mouth feel that finishes out with a malty sweetness to balance the hop bitterness . Belly up dad's, your favorite things are combined, oysters and beer.

I had this as a sample at a beer dealer in Roanoke, Virginia. This beer was awesome. It was indeed a TRUE oyster stout. Slightly briny, mid-weight mouthfeel, and chocolatey aromas. Wonderful beer.
