Essence, the third release in the Local Fields Series, takes the citrusy character of a traditional West Coast Double IPA and amplifies it with the addition of Southern California citrus fruits. This IPA, already brimming with intense hop aroma from the Cascade and Zythos, gets an additional boost of bright citrus from generous additions of fresh, local Navel & Blood Oranges and Grapefruit. Essence, while intense, is equally refreshing and enjoyable with a pleasant, lingering bitterness. Additional Information: This beer represents the “Essence” of Southern California: fresh, local citrus in a hoppy IPA. It also represents the “Essence” of Hangar 24 and how combining citrus with beer has fueled our success. We source the best fruits from the top farms in Southern California to bring you this one of a kind drinking experience.

From a drinkability standpoint, you could NOT tell this was 8.5%. Bright vibrant spice, citrus and florals. Even more citrus in the flavor. Enough bitterness to notice, but not biting. Quite smooth. A nice ipa/iipa.
