Poured motor oil-ish with brown head. Big aroma of syrupy molasses, caramel malts, chocolate and alcohol. Flows into my mouth thick and chewy yet silky smooth. Wow! Loads of malt flavors: Caramel, chocolate, coffee, alcohol too, brown sugar and black patent roasted (burnt) malt. Very nice chatty beer.

The notorious Yeti. On tap at the Bocktown bar & grill in the Robinson shopping complex. Pours very black with a darker tan head. The head keeps holding on. Imperial stout is one of my least favorite styles so don’t look for any super evaluation here. Sweet aroma that is typical of many imperial stouts. When you taste it, it has the impact of your good imp stouts. Definitely within the style. Deep roasty, charred wood and black coffee. The liquid does not seem to be as thick as other stouts I’ve tasted. This brew does have some carbonation, something that is usually lacking in these stouts. A vicious malty/hoppy bitter astringent linger that really hangs with you for a long time after the last swallow. Bitter like medicine. I think this is what many stout lovers like about imp stouts, something I’ll never get used to. I guess this is the thing that they consider creative personality. How can something that is so bitter be referred to as wonderful I don’t know. The only reason I give this a rating that is as high as a 2 is that I’m afraid I would be considered a troll, will not buy again. Yep, very similar to thirsty dogs siberian, bells exp and brooklyn choco. Yeti is probably a hair better. Not quite as bitter as lion stout. Normally I would stay away from IPA and imp stout, since I don’t have enough beer experience to enjoy the style. I got this one as a gift from a friend. I’d never buy it for myself, it is way too expensive. I’ll sneak this rating in early in the morning so nobody will see it.

33cl bottle from Systembolaget (probably Sälen some time ago). Pours black, used motor oil looking with a brown head. Lovely, massive aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, dark fruits and hints of licorice, caramel and fruity and herbal hops. Sweet and lovely flavourful with a nicely balanced bitterness. Full bodied with carbonation on the soft side. Complex, but dangerously drinkable with well integrated alcohol and a nice warming and somewhat bitter finish. Really delicious, pure liquid candy and the kind of beer that makes me remember why I love beer so much in the first place. (About time to try this one again and just what I needed after trying to quite horrible new beers)

22oz bottle

Pretty good Imperial Stout. It is a little harsh with the finishing hops.Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9
Bottle: Poured that thick tar black color with a light creamy brown thick lasting head. The aroma is sweet with chocolate and rich malt. The taste iis a roasted malt with sweet chocolate. There this dry bittery hop finish that makes a lasting impression!

Lucious dark brown head, plenty of sticky brown lace. Its black its BIG and its bold! Fruity, roasty, thick, creamy, well hopped, chocolatey, cocoa, and vinous notes. One big brew, good and chewy with a touch of alcohol to top it off, NICE.... BIGASS Thanks again to snowtiger for this one.

Originally rated Jan.2018. Bottle from LCBO. Pours a massive frothy brownish head and has a deep dark brown, almost pitch black appearance. Some big sticky dirty lacing. Somewhat excessive carbonation. Aromas of dark roasted malts, chocolate/cocoa, coffee, and earthy hops. Flavours are on the sweet side, lots of chocolate and caramel notes, dark roasted malts. Also some coffee, licorice, herbal, and woody notes. Some mild hop bitterness in the finish. Slick and slightly oily mouthfeel. Smooth and pretty easy to drink. High abv but extremely enjoyable. Great stuff!

Pours a really dark brown beer with matching head of somewhat thin bubbles that eagerly fizzed away. Deep aroma of chocolate, caramel and roasted malt. The sweetness gives way quickly to bitterness of a floral and pine hop. I've had the oak aged version before, and I seem to remember enjoying it more than this one.

Pours a black colour without any highlights. The head is huge, creamy, bubbly, frothy, mocha-coloured with excellent, everlasting retention and creamy lacing. Roasted malt aromas with some chocolate, vanilla and coffee notes. The taste is bitter with dark chocolate, burnt malts and grassy hops. The mouthfeel is slick, wet, but with a little dryness in the finish. Alcohol is well-hidden in the hoppiness. Quite a nice hoppy, bitter, Imperial Stout.

Aroma of this beer is pure delight - thick and oily, strongly of fine coffee with hints of molasses, miso and unsweetened chocolate. It pours a deep, rich, warm, opaque sable with a very thick and fairly persistent tan head. Flavor does not disappoint - it is strongly chocolaty with coffee and malty tones and hints of toffee plus a bit of a hoppy bitter bite. Texture is thick and smooth, and fairly tingly so you know that you’re drinking a fine beer. Almost perfection, this one!
