With over 90 IBU’s and 3 pounds of hops per barrel, this Imperial Pale Ale or “Double” IPA is not for the faint of heart! The Avalanche IPA features an intense citrus hop flavor, a characteristic of the American Cascade and Amarillo hops used in this ale. Also look for a copper color, caramel malt body, a crisp bite in the finish, and a warming sensation on the palate from the high alcohol content of this beer. Available in Mid February.

Tasted this at the 2008 TAP NY Craft Beer Festival. I immediately smelled the strong floral essence of the hops. Once I tasted this medium bodied ale I was impressed by the fact that the hops did not overwhelm the biscuit flavors.
