It pours a light copper with a thin creamy-white head and copious lacing. An aroma of caramel malts, hops and pine, grapefruit and citrus, tea and bitterness, dates, and light spiciness. The mouthfeel is smooth and rich. Flavors of the caramel malts, hops, pine, grapefruit and citrus, tea and bitterness, and spiciness. Solid and hearty brew!

Sampled on 9/13/2010. This IPA pours a medium orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. A very small white foamy head with decent lacing and no retention. The aroma is caramel malt, tea with some hops. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are caramel and sweet, with a very strong ice tea presence. The hops are very slightly herbal. A touch medicinal tasting. Almost no carbonation. Kind of a herbal mess at the end. Might be a bottling problem, but this particular bottle is neigh on undrinkable. Drain pour. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is bitter and herbal.

22 oz bottle. Pours a tea-like amber with almost no head even after a vigorous pour.

The aroma is caramel malts and cola with a touch of hops.

The flavor is washed out caramel malts with a touch of medicinal bitterness. The mouthfeel is extremely watery with no carbonation.

Overall, Grand Lake seems to have problems with bottles. At the brewery carbonation on this was fine and there was good hop presence. I don't think the bottle would be old - there's no date, but I bought it right at the brewery. This was much better on tap.
