Black Bear is our take on a German eisbock, which means the  beer is frozen in the conditioning tank, concentrating the  beer and creating a smooth, malty beer, a bit higher in  alcohol. The roasted grains give this beer hints of coffee  or chocolate. The mouthfeel is much lighter than you would  expect. Delicious any time of the year but a particular hit  in cold weather months.

Thanks to PaleAleRider for this one from the brewery. Pours a dark copper colour with ruby highlights. Beige head with some decent lacing. Roasted malt aromas with some vanilla and giving hints of cocoa. Some dark fruits in the taste with the roasted barley. Not sweet though, not too rich. Goes down nicely actually. Almost more of a Eistout or Eisporter, but a good brew nonetheless.

Picked up a few tallboys from the brewery. Pours an size frothy tan head and has a fairly dark brown appearance. Some sticky lace. Aromas of roasted barley malts, hints of cocoa and coffee. Flavours are sweet malts, toasted malts, coffee and cocoa. Some notes of spices but quite subtle as well some hints of raisins, in the finish. Lively carbonation. Not bad.
