Nov. 2014: Shared bottle at local tasting, as Famosa. Pale golden colour, low white head. Artificial and "chemical" sweetish / sourish aroma. Sourish flavour, otherwise bland as hell, dust, no bitterness

Bottle poured with a water to gold in colored body that supports a thin white head. The aroma comes off as grainy and with hints of metal. The flavor is standard sweet malts with hints of hop bitterness and metal shavings. Not such a great beer.

I enjoy trying beers from various countries; even if I don’t care for them I am glad to give them a fair shake. This one has a rather typical crisp, malty lager smell - not promising at all, but not repulsive either. It pours a clear, wan straw yellow with a white head that dissipates rather quickly. Flavor is rather wan, a little malty but that is it. At least it tastes like beer. Texture has about average fizziness but is a tad watery. Well, give the folks in Guatemala a chance, and they’ll come up with something better.

Clear pale yellow with quickly dissapearing white foam head. Aroma is weak, so is taste. Nothing special about this lager, but it added another country to my list. Short somewaht bitter aftertaste. (Houston 201301)

Sampled on 3/26/2009. This pale lager pours a light yellow gold color from a 1liter bottle. Small sized white quick dissipating foamy head. The aroma is cereal and a touch of cardboard. A light bodied Pale Lager. The malts are cereal and grain. The hops are spicy with a touch of grass. All the flavors are very mild. It’s not quite water, yet its not quite beer either. Lively carbonation. Nearly tasteless really, but there are NO bad or off flavors. Time to add another country to the list of beer sampled. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is crisp and clean. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Guat has a pretty wide range of brews, all taste similar but differnt names. pours a bright bright golden colour, flavors are grainy but refreshing. clean and crisp on the palate, noticeable corn aroma.
