This was a nice little beer, one I picked up while shopping at the grocery store. A very delicate aroma of honey-ish malts, light corn/cereal nose with a touch of grass. Flavor seems to lack a quality Czech pils flavor and lack the character too. It's not bad, just no trace of hops anywhere. A clean flavor with just a hint of sweetness. Easy to consume. But don't kid yourself you're getting a Czech pils, because you're not. -

Had this at the brewery in Hood River last weekend. Drank it right after the session Premium lager. Has a much lighter straw color with average foam and lacing. This one has a stronger hop presence and more creamy malt in the texture. The finish is a little bitter. Nothing exciting in this one and not nearly as good as the session lager.

had at the Saucer .. . pours a light gold, with light amount of foam .. . aromas of corn and sawdust .. . refreshing mouthfeel, but still needs to be drier .. . basic hay and corn taste, a little muddled .. . not a bad beer i guess- too simple and lacks any pilsner qualities, just a decent pale lager .. . Cat in the wall, eh? Ok, now you're talking my language. I know this game.

Tried this one a few days ago, and it was fairly decent. It seemed a little 'heavier' than the average pils, which was o.k. for me. Aroma and flavors of malt, grain, grass, with some slight hop bitterness. Mouthfeel was full with a touch of sweetness. Overall not too shabby.

Pours clear gold with airy, fading head. The aroma isunderstated, but pleasantly malty. The flavor is balanced and clean. Interestingly, the finish is slightly sweet. Light bodied, but not watery; well carbonated. Food showing by Full Sail.

Sampled on 12/8/2009. This pilsner pours a medium yellow gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is cereal malts and spicy hops, slightly sweet. A medium bodied pilsner. The malts are cereal and bready. The hops are spicy and floral. Nice balance. Good carbonation. A nice crisp and clean pilsner. A great balance between the malts and the hops. Wish more pilsners tasted like this one. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Pours a clear straw yellow with a foamy and not very persistent white head. Aroma is crisp, malty, and not very strong. Flavor, fortunately, is better - strong, almost mouth-filling, malty with hoppy and fruity hints. Flavor is smooth, satisfying, just a little fizzy.

Smells of yeast, grass, lemon and wort. Pours a very clear yellow that is dark and some white head. Crisp balanced lighter body. Flavor was tart, straw, some hops, and very mild. it a nice beer but too earthy..

A vigorous pour into my 25cl tulip glass produces a four-finger thick, pale tan colored head that leaves a touch of lacing as it slowly subsides. The beer is a rich gold hue that shows a brilliantly clear, bright gold color with just a touch of red-copper to it when held up to the light. The aroma smells of sweet grain, perhaps even a touch of wholesome corn, grassy grain notes, and a touch of honey’d malt character up front. The finish picks up a hint of grassy herbal character, maybe a hint of lemon zest and a cracker-like grain note. This is quite malt focused for a Pilsner, at least the types that I really enjoy; this seems like a bit more of Helles, at least from the aroma.A light menthol bitterness picks up a touch of herbal notes and then finishes with a light, but structured bitterness in the finish. Again the hop character is quite a bit lighter in the flavor than I was expecting. Pretty dry malt character, though there is just enough malt sweetness to balance and meld with the hop character. A touch of toffee character comes through at times, but this is exceedingly subtle. There is some grassy grain notes as well as a touch of cracker-like grain flavor here. A herbal hop note becomes a bit more expressive as the beer warms up; it even picks up a touch of lemon zest character, but it is still not quite to the level that I would prefer. As the beer warms up more I begin to like it less again.
This seems much more of Helles, and not really all that great of one. This is certainly refreshing, and even tasty in its own way, but I was expecting a bit more from this brew. I am actually quite supprised that this is rated at 35 IBUs, there is definitely a bitterness here, it just seems much softer than something even like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale achieves with its 32 IBUs. Not bad, but there are a lot more interesting Pilsners out there.
