A shipload of special dark-roasted and caramel malts gives this beer an intense mocha-sweet palate, with a tankerfull of hops provide the bite. This ain't no Texas tea!

Mocha aroma has a strong bourbon overtone - no surprise there! It pours midnight black with a thick dark tan head that leaves some substantial lacing. Flavor is - WOW! Just wow! Quality coffee, semi-sweet chocolate, licorice, bourbon, molasses, hops nuts - each sip seems just a little different. Thick, smooth texture is quite tingly and leaves a slightly sweet and fizzy finish. A must!

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a medium size brown foamy head with good retention and good lacing. Aroma of bourbon and sweet creamy barley without too much alcohol ester. Taste is a complex mix between some sweet roasted malt with creamy barley notes and some dominating bourbon with light vanilla touch. Bourbon is very present but without any alcohol ester. Which I very much appreciated. Full body with good carbonation. Very well done and something I would have more often.

A black apperance with a tan head. A big ol chocolate and coffe aroma on this one. The flavor caught me off guard. I get alot of marshmellows in this one. Along with chocolate, coffee, and some smokiness. The finish is slightly bitter. Nothing great but a pretty good stout.

This brute is an ass kicker. You gotta know what you're in for when you order this. I had it at the brewery and realized I'm not an impy stout kinda guy.

Tasted on Tap at 2005 OBF. Dark black color. Small sized tan foamy head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee and a touch of vanilla. A medium bodied Russian Imperial Stout. Malts are chocolate, coffee and roasty malts. Slightly bitter hops. Nice roasty flavors. Little milder than expected for a RIS. Good drinking stout. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is bitter.
