This beer was made to commemorate the works of poet Langston Hughes, whose autobiographical book "The Big Sea" was published in 1940. Hughes made his home in Lawrence from 1902-1915

From a growler. Pours a clear brown with a thin white head. Aroma is light and sweet with caramel notes. Flavor is light with a great bitter aftertaste. A good beer as expected from Free State. Thanks to Dansting for getting this for me.
