We took a crisp, light-bodied cherry ale and hid it away in oak barrels that have held both bourbon and maple syrup. After a lengthy stint, it emerged a changed beer, blanketed in notes of warm vanilla and earthy sweetness. The wood proves itself the star of this beer, adding depth and taming the tart cherry while the maple imposes a velvety texture that lingers for not a moment too long. Frootwood comes in at 8.0% ABV.

Poured up at AZ Strong Beer Fest 2017 where it exhibits a crystal clear deep gold and kind of rosy light purple body that supports a white head that has some pinkish hues. The aroma tosses up tons of sweetness with molasses, maple, a little vanilla and then a faint coconut sensation. The taste is smooth and rich with sweet molasses as well as a sweet syrupy slightly spicy maple sensation. It then gets into a flash of vanilla and then a decent level of berry fruitiness that tends to dry this sweetness out a bit into the finish.

355ml bottle into shaker. Pours a red/orange with a solid head of white foam. Some lazy carbonation going on. Smells of wood, freshly picked fruit, and bourbon. Full body, smooth oily texture. Fresh, fruity, coats the tongue with light cherry. Finish is sweet bourbon and tart cherry. There is alcohol here, and wood, and cherry, and much delight. What a great beer! Really really good.

355 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.0%. Pink to red colour, moderate off-white head with a hint of pink. Unusual aroma of cherries, marzipan, maple syrup, bourbon, vanilla and oak. The flavour is sweet but not cloying, again notes of cherries, maple syrup, bourbon and oak. Interesting, unusual - and good.

Pours red-tinged copper with a thick and fairly persistent pale buff head. Aroma features woody, cherry and malty notes. Flavor ups the cherry component and adds a snip of hops, a little sweet, a touch of woody bitterness. Mouthfeel presents firm, smooth body and OK fizz. Wood you like a froot beer?

Pours a transparent reddish color with a small white head that leaves some fairly good lacing. Aromas of cherries with notes of bourbon and vanilla. The taste is definitely of a fruit beer, of which I am usually not a fan of. Sweet cherries dominate the taste with bourbon, wood and vanilla. Assuming the sweetness is enhanced by the maple syrup. Yet, it is still a bit tart on the finish. An unique and interesting beer.
