When you dance with the Devil, the Devil don't change. You do. Massive in complexity, the huge malt character balances the insane amount of alphas used to create it. At an incredible 112 IBUs, it's dry-hopped with ten hop varieties.

An orange amber colored beer with a three fingered sudsy textured, off white head rising above. There's some hang time. But no lacing. Light floral notes in the nose. More of that floral hoppiness in the tasting with bold caramel and sugar notes in tasting. Light-medium bodied with a slickness on the tongue.

This beer has some qualities so it gets a decent score but really it is overdone and way too sweet. Dark copper colour, minimal head and lacing. Lots of aroma and flavour but the sweet caramel malt overpowers the 112 IBUs.For some reason the draught didn't seem as sweet.

Amber orange hued body thick creamy head that left some decent lace. Aromas and flavors were rather malt heavy, thus the lower score. Caramel malts brown sugar, faint earthy hops, and plenty of booze. Overall a nice beer but it needs more hops for something billed as a triple IPA.

Had at a recent get together, and the three finger pour was plenty of this bold offering. Assertive floral hops fanned out in a wide sprectrum of catty, fruity, resinous, and herbal. Dark copper body, frothy off white head and thick lacing. Fruits and veggies so a couple bottles should provide the recommended daily allowance of both food groups. Surprisingly nice mellow mouthfeel for such a big IIIPA. Very bitter, but not overly assertive. Nothing I'd seek out, but good to finally get to try some.

Reluctantly picked up a 4-pack for $20 yesterday (about killed me to spend that much per 12 oz bottle but it was new). Reddish-copper pour with a sticky white head. For a "triple" IPA, I expected more hop aroma but all I got was mostly malty sweetness, alcohol and faint earthy hops. Very sticky mouthfeel. Lots of bitterness and alcohol burn in the taste with a pallete-wrecking bitter finish. Best comparison I can think of is a "double Bigfoot". Good but not worth the price.

Meh - this is just overdone. Aroma of alcohol with some faint hops. Mouthfeel is thick and sticky, which is probably good as this one is strong. The taste is just way overdone, what's the point? It's boozy and strong with a long, lingering bitter finish. It's not pleasant. Don't get me wrong, it's a well crafted beer, but this is just not my thing.

A BIG thanks to the good folks at Wine Gourmet in Roanoke, VA for keeping the last single of this beer for me. On to the review. This beer is ODD! It smells peppery and tastes of black pepper too. I was expecting a tounge searing IPA but this is surprisingly malty. I know this beer is legendary but I can't say I am a big fan of this one. No matter - shit ton happy to have tried it!

Triple IPA you say? I suppose it is a bit maltier than a double but... Orange/Amber color with white head that goes away quickly. Heavy full bodied beer with lots of hops and sweet maltiness. It's like they took a perfectly good double and added a ton more malt to it. It's a very drinkable beer that has a great hop aftertaste and a sweet start, hard to stop drinking and dangerous to keep drinking.

toeing the line of double ipa and becoming something else completely. a barleywine? a strong ale, like a 120 minute ipa lite? dark orange, just about red, super thick. reminded me a lot of Unearthly, but with an additional bitter hop kick at the end that unearthly did not have. Very nice. Definitely a sipper. Thanks John!

Pours a translucent, somewhat hazy orange amber with a minimal head - which may be an artifact of the pour - and just a little lacing. Fruity aroma has undertone of malt and a hint of caramel. Flavor is fruity and citrusy with a malty tone and a caramel hint. Texture is fairly smooth and subtly fizzy.
