FiftyFifty's "Wit" beer, Foggy Goggle is a Belgian Style Wheat Beer, cousin of the German Hefeweizen. An unfiltered beer, Foggy Goggle is brewed true to style, using a yeast strain that originated in Belgium, with just a hint of orange peel, lemon peel, and chamomile. The appearance is an opaque yellow with a wonderfully fluffy head. The predominant aroma is citrus with a hint of coriander, and a unique spicy note. With citrus playing a big part of the flavor, Foggy Goggle is a very refreshing choice.

Spent the NYE weekend on a beer trip in the Sierra Nevada area and Fifty Fifty was my first stop and it started the weekend off on a nice note. On tap, the beer was a cloudy golden yellow body with a fluffy merengue white head. Aroma was citrusy and light spice. Flavor had a strong citrus note, light wheat, and floral/soapy. Sleepy time tea on the flavor, citrusy, and wheaty. Very nice, clean, and easy to drink.

the chamomile is a nice touch, and the only thing seperating this beer, ever so slightly, from all the other average wit beers out there. still won't go back as the service sucks, though.

Tasted on tap at the Northern California Brewers Fest 2008. This Belgian Wit pours a cloudy yellow gold color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, spicy and sweet, with coriander and orange peel. A medium bodied wit. The malts are fruity and sweet, touch of banana and clove. Nice spicing, coriander, black pepper and orange peel. Touch of yeast. Light and refreshing. Lively carbonation. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
