A bigger cousin of the English Pale, India Pale Ales were originally brewed with extra alcohol and lots of hops, both of which served to preserve the beer on the long voyage from England to the colony. Dry hopped with a distinct floral essence.

Mediocre offering from Elevator. Buttery hops that are floral and fruity. Big frothy white head on a copper body leaving heavy lacing. Mild to the palate, smooth with a sharp bitterness. Nice beer overall, but pretty far from IPA land.

pours a super hazy golden orange color with frothy head that left no lace. The aroma consists of wweet/tart grapefruit, pine, and caramel and a big hoppy aroma with nice malt characteristics. The taste is sweet grapefruit, peach, caramel, and some piney notes and is definitely pretty balanced for an IPA but assertive bitterness on the finish. The mouthfeel is very aggressively highly carbonated, dancing on my tongue carbonation, effervescent, finishes very dry. Not quick syrupy but a heavier body than your typical IPA which I think is from the higher ABV. Overall a good IPA with a bigger malt presence than many other IPAs.
