Our team decided what would be better than having our first beer be our personal ‘session’ beer of choice — a hop-forward west coast style American IPA. First Cast is named for the first few moments of joy you get as you began a great day of fishing on the river, as well as after the fact that this beer was our ‘first cast’ into the fantastic Colorado beer scene. Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4
16 oz bottle. Pours golden amber with a small creamy off white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is biscuity malts, sugary melons and some piney resiny hops.
The flavor is lots of biscuity malts with a little fruit and a pretty big grassy bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and slightly watery with low carbonation.
Overall, I didn't really care for it. Thin, with too much biscuit.
