Downpour is named after the sudden thunderous downpour that hit the Elevation Team during a “team building” trip of paddle boarding and beer at Chaffee County’s Cottonwood Lake. The hot day on the lake and its enlivening, bitter, cold downpour inspired us to create a Fresh Hop Extra IPA with a combination of bitterness from Colorado Fresh Hops and the warming of a big malt backbone. This Special Release beer is perfectly balanced for the warmth of summer sun and the cold of fall rain.

    Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

A reddish copper color to this, with a lot of haze and a lot of body. less than an inch of cream colored head, that leaves some fair lace. Aromas of herbal and floral hops, pale caramel malts, some yeasts as well.Flavor department I get some pine oil, fruitiness and some dankness, but I also get a lot of sweetness from the grain, nice finish. Overall i was expecting something a bit more aggressive, but it was pretty nice.
