Poured a a dark amber color with a massive long lasting head. I can smell roasted barley, spices and I think figs. The mouthfeel is thick and creamy. The tastes is close to being a fruit cake. This doppelbock way out classes the other beers I’ve had from this brewer.

500 ml capped bottle bought at the brewery. Poured in the original Einsiedler Bavarian Seidel a clear burgundy-brown coloured Doppelbock with a short one finger tan foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Soft carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is moderate roasted malts, caramel, brown sugar, dark ripe fruits, plums. The flavour is roasted and caramel malts, fruity, plums, raisins, light syrupy, notes of spices, licorice. The mouthfeel is clean, a bit oily and sticky. This medium to full bodied Doppelbock has a dry sweety malty finish. An easily drinkable and pleasant Doppelbock from West Saxony.

Bottled@Björntasting. Deep amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts, some syrupy notes, mild alcohol as well as some fruityness. Flavour is dark dry fruits, some sweet malts, caramel, alcohol and mild syrupy sweetness. A very pleasantly balanced Doppelbock.
