Brewed for the 150th anniversary of the brewery with 6 hops. The sunny, warm yellow design of the bottles already suggests it. This Duvel is mild, expressive and deliciously drinkable. No fewer than 6 different hop varieties are used for Duvel 6,66%: just like the classic Duvel, it’s based on the noble and exclusive hop varieties Saaz and Styrian Golding. The flavour is then balanced by adding four expertly selected hop varieties to the mix, which also involves the dry-hopping technique.

Bright golden colour with lots of transparent particles floating around, a big frothy off-white head, good retention and thick foamy-creamy lacing. Big Belgian aromas with the sugars first off, getting some spices and in this one - decent grassiness from the 6 hops. Eventually, this calms down and some caramel comes out. Almost diacetyl, but with alcohol to cut it a bit. The flavours has some sweetness to it, but the hops do blend this a little, also with the mild spiciness. Hints of honey, alcohol, peach and light grassy hops. Gets a touch hazy at last pour. Not a bad, lightly hoppier Duvel, but still has notes that are not what I expect from this brewery. Still, here's to another 150 years !

Pours clear topaz with a thick vellum head. Aroma yields butterscotch, orange, grapefruit and malty notes. Flavor brings grapefruit, orange, malty and butterscotch character. Texture finishes with nice body and lively fizz. This will bring out the Duvel in you.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. Moderately hazy golden colour, large white head. Lovely aroma of spicy Belgian ale yeast, and spicy and herbal hops. Also hints of stewed yellow plums. The flavour has again spicy yeast and spicy and herbal hops, hints of white kandij sugar, nice.
