330 ml bottle, unfiltered and unpasteurised, at Universitetsbaren, Aarhus. ABV was 7.6%. Served in a Hoegaarden Grand Cru glass. Black colour, big to moderate brown head. The aroma is first fairly fruity for an impy stout, notes of prunes. Also roasty with notes of coffee, dark chocolate and liquorice, hints of tar and smoke. The flavour is roasty with notes of coffee and liquorice. Tar and smoke in the finish. Distinct bitterness, but not extreme for an impy stout. Smoke, coffee and bitter hops in the long aftertaste.

This imperial stout pours a deep black color. Small to medium sized beige foamy head. Aroma is roasty malt and a touch of chocolate. Medium bodied Imperial Stout. Roasty malts, some chocolate a touch of fruit, but mostly roasty malts. Kind of one-dimensional and a touch thin tasting, but nothing objectionable. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

There really wasn't anything horribly bad or incredibly good with this one. Aroma was metallic, light coffee, roasted malts with little to no complexity. Appearance was spot on. Mouthfeel was medium to full bodied. Flavor was one dimensional with just a strong roasted malt flavor. Nothing bad, but nothing I can't find anywhere else around these parts either.
