Brussels Calling is our anniversary beer. The base is always a blonde, 6,5% abv, but we change the hops every year. The result is a very balanced ?Belgian IPA?. The bouquet is intensely exotic and floral. These flavours get longer and more intense in the taste, paired with a nice malt base, and they are structured by an intense but elegant bitterness, that reinforces the freshness of the beer. In the end the fruity character merges with a long and dry bitterness.

Bottle from the Hunger Mountain Coop in Vermont. Pours a hazy golden colour with tiny bits floating around. White soapy head with a nice stay and some foamy and sticky lacing. Aromas are quite fruity with oranges mostly, hints of Belgian Ale yeast and spices. Medium-bodied, oily mouthfeel with a mild dry finish. Citrus taste with the yeast balancing the zest. Light hop bitterness completes the rest. I like this Belgian ale that has a little more hop then average one of this style.

11.2 fl oz capped bottle. Poured in the original De la Senne stemmed glass an unfiltered and hazy pale amber coloured Belgian Ale with a three fingers light beige and soapy foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Sustained carbonation. Gorgeous lacing. Some floating sediments, in powder. The aroma is floral hops, yeast, bready and fruity, citrus, oranges. The flavour is sweety malts, fruity, citrus, a spicy touch with pepper and orange peels, marked herbal hops. The mouthfeel is fresh, quite thick, a bit sticky, very smooth and overall hoppy bitter. The texture is oily. This medium bodied BA has a lingering hoppy bitter finish. A very refreshing and well balanced Belgian Ale, on the hoppy way. I like it.
