These aren't your Grandpa's oats! A stick-to-your-ribs full bodies stout that's sure to warm you with it's roasty finish. It's brewed with flaked oats, giving it a velvety smooth feel, chocolate notes and a touch of sweetness. Rich malt quality, dark and drinkable; it's part of a balanced beer fest!

Pours a black color. Smell is of roasted malts, coffee. Taste is mild, smoke, roasted malt, a touch of hops. Oats are missing from both the aroma and flavor. Overall a decent beer.

12oz bottle. Pours a dark brown with a small creamy brown head that quickly goes to a thin collar that leaves some lacing.

The aroma is sweet perfumey chocolate malts with a little plasticky bitter roast.

The flavor is sweet perfumey chocolate malts with a bitter roast finish. It has a weird plasticky aftertaste. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, this was not as good as when I've had it on draft. It seems that Crabtree can be a bit inconsistent. This bottle had too many off notes to my liking (plastic, char and perfume).
