Very dark coloured with well-defined ruby tones, a characteristic coffee flavour from roasted malts and caramel, a pleasant hoppy bitterness, as well as a well defined fruity aroma. All of its components blend delicately to produce and smooth and reinvigorating beer.

500 ml on tap at The Pub, Funchal. Black colour, moderate beige head. Moderately roasty aroma and flavour, not very sweet, hints of coffee and dark chocolate, fairly smooth and nice to drink.

Dark ruby red/black colour with mediumsized foamy head. Aroma of malts and roast with some caramelly hints. Flavour is roasted malts and caramel with hints of hops in finish. Semiroasted sweetness in aftertaste. My favourite on Madeira.

Bottle. Dark brown with ruby hues. Fast fading reddish brown head. Sweet malty aroma with a hint of coffee. Sweet malty flavour with roasty bitter finish. Thin and watery mouthfeel, quite highly carbonated. Strange one.
