Coopersmith’s Kriek poured a cloudy light brown with some reddish tinges. It was served in a brandy snifter and had a small white head that collared around the edge of the glass.

The aroma was sweet, tart cherries with some sour notes.

The taste was a smooth malt up front. It had some strong cola-like notes like the cola flavored candy sticks. Then it had some tangy cherry notes that were not overwhelming at all, and a yeasty aftertaste. It left a sour tanginess on the tongue. It was pretty full-bodied, much more so than was I was expecting from a fruit lambic.

Overall, I liked this, a little too cola-y though. This is one of my first forays into lambics, so I’m not sure how true to style it is.
