Originally known as "Collingwood Brewery Fireside Extra Special Bitter" until 2016 Our award winning Kingpost Extra Special Bitter is inspired by the classic ales of Britain. This perfectly balanced, ruby-hued beer is rich in malt character with hints of toffee and caramel. We brewed this traditional ale to be enjoyed like a proper pint should be: in the company of good friends. Kingpost ESB is best enjoyed at 6-10 degrees celsius. Pour directly into the centre of a pint glass to encourage a rich, dense head

Originally tried as 'Fireside Extra Special Bitter'. The beer pours a murky caramel brown colour with a light tan coloured cap. The aroma was sweet caramel malt, some cereal malt, and earthy hops. The mouthfeel was medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was toffee, weak citrus, and a definite yeast notes. -

Average all round. Decent appearance turns to not so good. Mild caramel malt aroma. Sweet caramel malt flavour with dirty earthy hops, wood, tea, and rust. Thin mouthfeel. Think it would taste better on draught.

Pours a good size frothy off-white head and has a golden amber appearance. Lacing is ok. Aromas of barley malts, hints of caramel. Flavours are also mainly malty, barley malts, sweet, notes of caramel and earthy hops. Mouthfeel is average. Actually seems to be a bit watery. Not bad but still fairly average.

Can stamped with NOV3015 underneath. Pours a clean rich amber colour with a bubbly-creamy beige head, good retention and very nice lacing. Aromas of rusty water from the hops. These hops are also a little too strong in the taste and not well-balanced. Grassy, bitter, but luckily not as rusty as the scent. With time, caramel and nutty malts appear in the nose. Fruity malts in the taste. Becomes acceptable. Drinkable.
