Wet Hop Wheat is a Fresh Hop beer. This beer celebrates the harvest season with local Onatrio hops picked within hours of this brew. 2-Row, wheat, and cara malts were mixed with a touch of Briess Wheat which lends this ale it’s goldish colour. 100% percent of the hops were added in the last 5 minutes of the boil and in our whirlpool, for maximum flavor and aroma. The result is a straw-like, golden brew that’s extremely smooth and drinkable with a huge nose of juicy fruit and grassy mango, with pungent hops and a bready malt finish. The finish is clean and silky without the lingering bitterness that one might expect from the aroma of this beer.

On tap at Arrow and Loon. Pours a fairly small frothy white head and has golden appearance. Some decent sticky lacing all around. Aromas are piney and floral as well as some notes of wheats. Flavours are quite fruity, some wheats, tropical fruits, also a bit wheaty and some hints of yeast, but mostly in the finish. Great balance between sweetness and bitterness. Slick and somewhat oily mouthfeel.

On tap at the Loon. Pours a hazed light-golden colour with a white cap and decent lace. Tropical fruit nose with a nice balance between sweetness and grassiness. Mouthfeel is slightly dry in the middle. Hoppy, but not overly. Well-blended with the fruitiness, even pineapple and the wheat completing things with hints of bubblegum. A very nice refreshing fruity, extremely well-balanced brew which should be always available at the LCBO in cans.
