Blonde Ale is a traditional American style of Golden Ale. Our version is fermented cooler and given an extra week of cold conditioning for an ale with the crisp finish of a lager. We use all American malts and hops with Liberty and Mount Hood providing the spicy hop bouquet. California Blonde Ale won a Gold medal at he 1996 World Beer Cup, a Bronze medal in the 1997 World Beer Championships, and a Silver Medal in the 1998 World Beer Championships. It earned a Bronze Certificate in the 1997 California State Fair Commercial Craft Brewing Competition and Third Place and a Silver Certificate at the 1996 California State Fair.

Nothing offensive for this beer, and I thought it oddly dark for a "blonde" ale (perhaps this is the first dirty blonde ale?). The beer pours out an light amber color, clear without much head (a California blonde not giving head? A first for sure). Aroma is light honey, some subtle metalicness with just a slight hop bite. Flavor is just an extension of the aroma in this case. Honey, metal, subtle grassy hop character. Freshing, easy to drink and that's about it for this dirty blonde.

Golden colour, small white head. Aroma of sweet cookies, honey, a bit malts and big hops. Flavour is malts, hops and a bit metallic. Weak honey also noteable. Hoppy finish and aftertaste.

Poured ahoney-slightly amberwith amarginal head, nice malt flavor that finishes wih a slight hop bitterness. head was gone in a short time, not a choice that can't be found inother breweries.
